Gold vermeil over 925 sterling
Vermeil & Gold-Plated Silver Jewelry Manufacturer
We manufacture gold vermeil and gold-plated sterling silver jewelry for brands, designers, and retailers, plated to your specification and made to a standard you can prove. Rings, earrings, necklaces, pendants, and bracelets, built on a 925 sterling silver base and finished in real gold.
The FTC standard
Real vermeil, not just “gold plated”
There is a legal difference, and it is worth money to your brand. Under the FTC Jewelry Guides, a piece can only be called vermeil if it is sterling silver plated with at least 10 karat gold at a minimum thickness of 2.5 microns. Ordinary gold plating has no legal minimum and usually runs a fraction of that.
We plate vermeil at 2.5 to 3.0 microns, which means we produce jewelry that legally qualifies as vermeil, so you can market and sell it as vermeil rather than plated. That claim commands a higher price and reaches a buyer who is specifically looking for it.

Third-party XRF tested
Proven, not promised
Plating thickness is where most suppliers cut corners and most brands get burned. We don't ask you to take our word for it. Thickness and composition can be verified by certified third-party labs using XRF equipment such as the Fischer GOLDSCOPE SD 550, and we provide the test report with your order on request.
Every run is documented and consistent, so the piece you approve is the piece you receive.

Questions
Vermeil manufacturing FAQ
What is the difference between vermeil and gold plated?
+
Under the FTC Jewelry Guides, vermeil must be sterling silver plated with at least 10 karat gold at a minimum thickness of 2.5 microns. Ordinary gold plating has no legal minimum thickness and usually runs a fraction of that, so only jewelry meeting the vermeil standard can be marketed as vermeil.
What thickness do you plate to?
+
We plate vermeil at 2.5 to 3.0 microns, specified per order, meeting or exceeding the 2.5 micron minimum required to call a piece vermeil, in 18k yellow or rose gold, or other karats on request (10k minimum for vermeil), over a 925 sterling silver base.
Can you verify plating thickness?
+
Yes. Plating thickness and composition can be verified by certified third-party labs using XRF equipment such as the Fischer GOLDSCOPE SD 550, and we provide the test report with your order on request.
Do you offer private label vermeil?
+
Yes. We produce vermeil and gold-plated sterling silver under your brand, with your designs, logo, tags, and packaging, from a single custom commission to a full private-label collection. Design, CAD, casting, plating, and finishing are all handled in-house.
